Branko Popovic
Branko Popovic was born in 1950, in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts and also from the School of Architecture of the University of Sarajevo. From 1978 until 1992 he worked as a professor of the Academy of Fine Arts of Sarajevo and also takes part in numerous , individual and collective, exhibitions around the whole of ex Yugoslavia, but also in many different European countries. He is considered to be one of the most important Yugoslavian artists, with a distinctive master in aquarelles and oil on canvas. After the outbreak of the war in Yugoslavia, he and his family moved in Athens, where he lives and works since. In Greece he has worked as a professor of design at the “Hellenic Center of Leather”, as well as a professor of mosaics at the “Alsos of Artists of Plaka”. At present time he teaches design and mosaic art in his own private school. He has exhibited his work more in then thirty countries all over the world, in 200 collective and 40 personal exhibitions.
